PENSIONERS in east Durham have been reminded they are eligible for financial help to keep warm this winter.
Easington's MP, John Cummings, has urged all over-60s in his constituency to apply for their winter fuel payments.
He said: "Over the coming months, many older people across Easington will receive their winter fuel payments of between £200 and £300."
He added: "I want to make absolutely sure that everyone who is entitled to it receives their winter fuel payment to make sure we all stay warm over the coming months.''
Anyone who is 60 or over should be eligible for a winter fuel payment of at least £200 and anyone wanting any information on the payment can telephone 08459 151515.
