A NEW manager has been appointed to supervise the development of a North-East city.
Malcolm Hutchinson, 56, has been appointed to the role in Sunderland.
The city is in the middle of a regeneration scheme, with £2bn expected to be invested in high-profile projects in the next few years.
The father-of-two said: "Sunderland is a big city with lots of drive and ambition and I am very excited about my new role and the challenges it has to offer."
The regeneration is a joint initiative between the North East Chamber of Commerce, Sunderland City Council and local businesses
