A BRIDGE incorporating the designs of schoolchildren will be opened this week
MP for Stockton South Dari Taylor will be joined by youngsters from Layfield Primary School when she unveils the steel bridge and accompanying benches at Willey Flatt Field, in Yarm, on Friday.
The bridge, which crosses Skytering Beck, and chairs are based on designs by the youngsters following a workshop they held with artist Graeme Hopper, decorated with images of plants and animals.
Councillor Bob Cook, Stockton council's cabinet member for regeneration and development, said: "We are very pleased at the completion of this bridge.
"The youngsters worked very hard on their designs with Graeme and we are more than happy to see their work transferred from the page into real life."
