A MAN dressed as Dracula had to be rescued from a viaduct after he threatened to jump off.
Police were called after a man dressed as the vampire climbed Horden Viaduct, in Sunderland, on Sunday night and threatened to throw himself 100ft to the ground.
It took officers three hours to talk the man, who was believed to have been missing from home, into coming down.
He was arrested, taken to Peterlee Police Station, fined £80 for trespassing on a railway line and released.
Police closed the line to on-coming trains during the incident.
A police spokesman said: "People should not go anywhere near a railway line in the interest of safety for themselves and other people."
