A MOBILE youth shelter is to be installed in Stokesley in an attempt to cut anti-social behaviour.
The £6,600 building will be put up in the North Road, Allen Grove and Sowerby Crescent area by the end of this month.
A similar shelter is in place in Bankhead Park, Northallerton. It was installed following complaints from residents about anti-social behaviour.
Tim Woods, a member of Hambleton Community Safety Partnership, said: "These shelters are known to help reduce crime and the fear of crime for both local residents and the young people.
"When youths congregate on street corners, their actions can raise fears, even if they are just hanging out with their friends.
"Giving them somewhere to meet - somewhere that is their own - can reduce those fears and we hope it will greatly reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour."
