A MAN appeared in court yesterday accused of carrying out a serious assault during a bus station fracas.
Michael David Tracey, 21, is accused of wounding a 29-year-old man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
It relates to an incident at a bus stand in Concord, Washington, Wearside, at 1.45am on Sunday.
The victim was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering serious head injures, and was yesterday in a critical, but stable, condition.
Mr Tracey, of Concord, Washington, was remanded in custody by magistrates yesterday.
He will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on November 14.
