A FATHER-OF-TWO with a pregnant wife has been warned he faces prison after a row with a woman neighbour escalated into knife-wielding threats.
Magistrates heard how Glyn Lees had thrust a carving knife with a 12-in blade towards Sarah Linfoot's chest, telling her: ''If you don't leave my family alone, I am going to kill you.''
Stephanie Waite, prosecuting, said Ms Linfoot had been subjected to earlier abuse as she was taking her six-year-old son to school.
She had decided that on the way back she would try to sort things out by calling on 29-year-old Lees.
Ms Linfoot had been met at his door in Princess Terrace, Chain Lane, Knaresborough, by Mrs Lees and as she moved to leave, Lees followed her with the carving knife.
As he lunged towards her the knife tip had been within inches of her chest before it was waved close to her face.
When Lees pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour provoking fear of violence, his solicitor, Geoffrey Rogers, contended the incident was part of a row between neighbours. ''All he wanted to do was warn her off,'' he said.
Court chairman Pauline Ward ordered probation reports before Lees is sentenced and warned him all options would be looked at, including prison. She bailed him until November 21 on condition he has no contact with Ms Linfoot and stays away from her home.
