TRADING standards officials have issued a safety warning over wrongly labelled fireworks.
Men Shun Fireworks Co Limited, of Thorp Arch Estate, Wetherby, North Yorkshire, is recalling a range of selection boxes sold between October 17 and 21.
The selection boxes are called Delta, Spectacular Party, Epsilon, Magnificent Party, Gala Fireworks and Party Fireworks, all of which are Men Shun and Select Fireworks brands.
The selection boxes contain two display fireworks called Colourful Palm Tree and Star Blast, which carry incorrect instructions.
They direct users to stand five metres back, when the correct safe distance for these fireworks is 25 metres.
The fireworks have been sold through Makro, JTF Wholesale Leeds, Homebase and the TM Group, which includes RS McCall, Martins, Fourboys and Dillons.
Men Shun has set up a helpline on (01937) 849188.
North Yorkshire County Councillor John Fort said: "I would urge anyone who may think that they have one of these selection boxes to take the whole box back to the shop where they bought it and ask for a replacement."
