AN event celebrating the musical achievements of youngsters across the Wear Valley will be held this weekend.
More than 50 young people will perform at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Sunday.
The event aims to celebrate the creative skills of local youngsters and offer their friends, parents and carers an opportunity to see them perform. A special film celebrating their achievements will also be screened.
Rock bands, soloists and world percussion will all perform on the bill, which includes young musicians from Bishop Auckland College and Willington Youth Theatre.
Musicians Paul Thompson and Dave Hopkins, from Bishop Auckland College, Ben Linacre from the Sage in Gateshead and Brazilian Alexsandro Gonzaga Rodrigues will support those participating.
Max Coleby, acting head of community services for Wear Valley District Council, said: "Young people in Wear Valley have developed new skills and demonstrated their willingness to learn, explore and enjoy music, and work together through these projects."
