Drystone wall builders from across the country will compete in the region next weekend.
Competitors, ranging from novices to professionals, will be challenged to build a 20-metre wall during the event at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve, near Houghton-le-Spring, Wearside, next Saturday.
In addition to the drystone wall contest, the event will feature hedge-laying contests and other countryside skills.
The competition has been organised by Tyne Tees Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group and County Durham Hedgerow Partnership.
Admission to the event, which runs from 9am to 4pm, is free.
