A Thornaby teenager has successfully completed what is considered the hardest initial training in the world to become a Royal Marines Commando.
Bradley Murray, 19, a former pupil of Thornaby Community School, has passed out at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines, Lympstone, Devon, with 888 Troop.
He said: "The training is hard and challenging, which is why I chose the Royal Marines.
"It has been a fantastic experience and it doesn't stop here. When I join 42 Commando Royal Marines, I could be deployed anywhere in the world.
"As a Royal Marines Commando, I can operate on land, sea or air and it is this that makes it so exciting."
