POLICE are appealing for information after a good Samaritan was left stranded by thieves.
A York man was driving his silver Ford Mondeo on the A59 at 10.15pm on Monday, when he saw a woman lying on the verge with her legs in the road, on the York side of the A1 interchange.
He stopped the car and got out to help. As he did so, a man appeared and got into the now empty vehicle.
The woman also got up and the two drove off together.
Both were in their 20s and were dressed in jeans and trainers.
Anyone with information about the incident, or the vehicle, registered CE55 OUU, can call police on (01423) 539334.
