COACHES from one of the country's most successful football clubs have helped improve the skills of hundreds of youngsters this week.
About 240 children from Richmond Town's junior section were given expert coaching by staff from Manchester United's youth academy.
The three days of coaching were a prize won by parent Kevin Edgar in a competition on Manchester United's website while buying a football shirt for his son, Cameron.
Russell Lord, chairman of Richmond Town, said: "We have had 80 children a day receiving extremely professional coaching.
"It has been a great opportunity."
Mr Lord thanked Richmondshire Leisure Trust, which allowed the sessions to be held at Richmond School after heavy rain waterlogged the Earl's Orchard pitch.
He also thanked children's mothers who served refreshments.
