A PRISON, water treatment works and an engine factory will receive royal visits next month.
Princess Anne will visit County Durham on Wednesday, November 30.
During her trip, she will visit Deerbolt Young Offenders' Institution, in Startforth, near Barnard Castle.
The visit is in Princess Anne's role as patron of the Butler Trust, a charity that aims to improve care for prisoners.
During the visit, she will tour the prison, meet staff and prisoners and will open the institution's High Intensity Training Centre.
She will also attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Cummins, in Yarm Road, Darlington.
The factory, which builds diesel engines for trucks, buses, construction and mining equipment, boats, trains and military vehicles, was opened 40 years ago by the Queen.
The Princess will also open the Wear Valley Water Treatment Works, at Wearhead, in Wear-dale.
The £28m works is disguised as a farmhouse, with two-thirds of the structure underground.
