FOURTEEN jobs have been lost at a car parts company only days after it went into administration.
Twelve of the cuts were at the head office of Vickers Pressings Tolwood Automotive (VPTA), Newton Aycliffe, while the other two were at its Newcastle office.
VPTA appointed KPMG as administrators on Friday.
Yesterday, KPMG said the business continues to trade and it hoped VPTA could be sold as a going concern.
Last night, managing director Steve Joyce said: "We have sized the business down to a position that we think will make it easier for a sale."
The company was created earlier this year following a merger of Tolwood Limited, in Newton Aycliffe, and Vickers Pressings, of Newcastle.
It employs 195 in Newcastle, another 111 in Newton Aycliffe and about 60 more in Wolverhampton and Walsall
