PD LOGISTICS has signed a three-year contract worth £2m to provide warehousing for chemicals group Huntsman.
The road transport company, part of PD Ports, Logistics and Shipping, which owns Teesport, has secured the deal for Huntsman's pigments division at Greatham, near Hartlepool, which produces white pigments under the Tioxide brand.
At the beginning of the year PD Logistics agreed to provide overspill warehousing for Huntsman as its existing off-site facility was near capacity.
The contract has created eight jobs.
Frank Antropik, general manager for PD Logistics, in Billingham, said: "This new contract is a major boost to our Billingham site, creating a number of new roles and is a clear reflection of our team's endeavours."
