THREE men, one of whom carried an electric stun gun, have tried to rob a Chinese restaurant.
The three, one wielding a handgun and another a stun gun, threatened the head chef of the New Royal Circle, in Stowell Street, Newcastle, and demanded money.
They attacked him, but he struggled and they made off empty-handed. The chef suffered minor injuries.
The stun gun was left behind by the attempted robbers, who were all in their 20s and appeared to be Chinese.
One of them had distinctive collar-length spiked hair with blond highlights.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 2.40pm on Sunday, is asked to call police on 0191-214 6555, extension 62146.
