DOG owners in Shildon, Newton Aycliffe, Spennymoor and Ferryhill can get a free health check for their animals this week.
The Dogs Trust and Sedgefield Borough Council are urging dog owners to bring their pets along for a free check-up.
Anybody who lives within the DL4, DL5, DL16 and DL17 postcode areas can take their dog for a veterinary check up, a full set of vaccinations, worming treatment and flea treatment, plus a microchip.
All dogs will also be booked to have a neutering operation - also free - at the Northern Stray-Care Veterinary Surgery.
The health checks will take place at the surgery, in Langley Moor, near Durham City until Friday, October 28, from 10am to 4pm.
To book, call the surgery on 0191-378 4433. Owners will be asked for proof of address and must be aged over 18.
