A TEENAGE motorcyclist was fighting for his life yesterday after a road accident involving another vehicle.
The incident happened at 7.40pm on Thursday in Broompark, on the outskirts of Durham, when the 17-year-old, travelling along Broom Hall Drive, was involved in an accident with a Nissan Almera car that was turning right into Broom Lane.
The teenager, from Skippers Meadow, Ushaw Moor, County Durham, was thrown from his Yamaha 125cc bike and suffered multiple injuries.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham, where his condition last night was critical.
The car's driver and passenger, a married couple both aged 51, also from Ushaw Moor, were unhurt.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to call them on 0191-375 2159.
