DRINKERS can raise a glass to the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar today - thanks to a North-East department store.
Binns, on High Row, Darlington, is marking the occasion with a display of memorabilia and Pusser's naval rum - the favoured drink of the crew on Lord Nelson's HMS Victory.
Wine cellar manager John Taylor has set up the display, which also includes accounts of the battle, ornamental decanters and original rope from Victory.
The flared shape of the rum bottles is a tribute to the design used 200 years ago, when they were tossed about on the rough seas.
