JUDGES have ruled an eight-bedroom hotel the best in the North-East.
Brothers Mike and Stuart Dickinson, who run the Kings Head Hotel, in Newton under Roseberry, near Guisborough, east Cleveland, are celebrating winning the Bed and Breakfast of the Year title.
The award was part of the North-East England Tourism Awards organised by regional development agency One NorthEast.
"From 15 months ago and not being able to make a bed, we have got to the point of the best in the North-East - we are very pleased," said 33-year-old Mike.
The restaurant next door to the hotel has been in the family for 30 years. The brothers converted eight country cottages into one to make the hotel, which has four red diamond ratings from both the AA and the RAC
Mike said: " We also have a Welcome to Excellence award, an Investors in People award. We have just won another award - Deliciously Yorkshire Breakfast award.
"We are trying to offer a better quality of bed and breakfast than normal - something people will remember. We have a big conservatory breakfast room from which guests can enjoy fantastic views of Roseberry Topping."
The King's Head will now represent the North-East in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence.
