AN event to commemorate the efforts of those on the home front during the Second World War is being held this Saturday.
There will be 1940s memorabilia and displays from a re-enactment society, from 11am to 4pm, at the Wood View Community Centre, in Wood View, Langley Park.
People are encouraged to wear period clothes, and broth and rice pudding will be served.
Children's entertainment will include a musician at 1pm and a storyteller at 2.30pm.
In the evening there will be a dance with swing music from Slugger Boogie Box.
The event is free and there will be a buffet, but tickets must be reserved by calling 0191-373 1876.
