A PROJECT to encourage people to recycle their household waste has been launched in Middlesbrough.
The Turn To Compost scheme is designed to raise awareness, while cutting the amount of compostable kitchen and garden rubbish going to landfill.
Middlesbrough Environment City is offering free compost bins and boxes to people who attend a workshop, as well as offering free kerbside collections to those who are unable to compost at home.
The scheme has also created a community composting facility at Saltersgill allotments, in the town.
Anyone interested in taking part in the project is asked to contact community compost officer Rolando Marcone, on (01642) 264678.
