COUNCIL leaders in Darlington are looking for local heroes who have stood up to trouble-makers.
The Home Office's anti-social behaviour unit has launched the third Taking a Stand Awards.
The accolades are presented to individuals or groups which have helped combat nuisance behaviour, whether through giving evidence at court or developing projects to tackle issues such as graffiti and litter.
Darlington Borough Council is seeking nominees who have made a difference and acted as an inspiration to their community.
The top 500 national nominees will each receive £1,000 towards their project or community activity.
Community groups are being sent information about the campaign.
Application forms are available by calling (01325) 346253 or through the application hotline on 0800 085 2980.
The closing date is January 13.
