A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man who fell down stairs at a Middlesbrough pub.
David Cutts, 49, of, Marton Manor in the town, suffered severe head injuries at Benson's Bar in Linthorpe Road at the weekend.
He was declared brain dead the following day, and his life support machine was switched off.
Police still want to speak to people who were in the pub at the time.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Cutts had suffered other injuries "not consistent with a mere fall".
A Cleveland Police spokesman said there were a number of disturbances in the bar around the time Mr Cutts was injured. He expressed disappointment that few people had come forward.
Mr Cutts was married with a grown-up daughter.
