Police hunting for missing Jenny Nicholl have searched a flat in her home town for clues.
The Advertiser understands that items were taken away from the property in Richmond, North Yorkshire, to be examined by forensic experts.
It is now three-and-a-half months since 20-year-old Jenny was last seen by her family and despite a massive hunt and pleas for help police have failed to make a breakthrough in the case.
But detectives are hopeful that the search at the weekend could provide crucial information about her whereabouts.
North Yorkshire police would not say where the property is or if anything of any significance was discovered.
A spokesman said: "Police were searching a flat over the weekend as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Jenny Nicholl. "We were looking for clues or evidence that might help us find her.
"The flat is not currently occupied."
Jenny's parents Ann and Brian Nicholl have not seen their daughter since she left the family home in Richmond on June 30.
Anyone who has information is asked to call the witness line on (01423) 539334.
