NORTH-EAST television favourites Ant and Dec have been made honorary Bash Street Kids.
The I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! stars will appear alongside the Beano heroes in their 2006 annual.
In the annual, Plug, Danny, 'erbert, Fatty, Smiffy, Wilfred, Spotty, Sidney and Toots are seen having to complete some of the horrible tasks set by the Geordie duo on their hit show, which will return next month.
Deputy Beano editor George Cobb said: "Ant and Dec are both known for getting up to mischief and playing practical jokes, so they fit perfectly with what the Bash Street Kids are about. It was good fun having Ant and Dec in the comic - they are honorary Bash Street Kids now."
The Bash Street Kids first appeared in the Beano in February 1954, when the strip was called When The Bell Rings. Ant and Dec said they were delighted to be part of the comic book's history.
