Annfield Plain took pride of place in the Wearside League Cup when they hit Nissan SSC Sunderland for six.
The goals rained in throughout the 90 minutes as Aaron Robertson plundered a hat-trick and Barry Close, Alan Coxon and Phil Raisbeck added to the woes of the Wearsiders.
Cleadon SC also found their scoring form but were flattered by a 4-1 scoreline against Coxhoe Athletic at Jack Clark Park.
Stephen Clifford gave the visitors a ninth-minute lead and he was close to adding a second goal before Cleadon clawed their way back into the tie.
Derek Newton restored parity after 25 minutes and five minutes later Danny Efford put Cleadon in front with a superb diving header.
Coxhoe were as good as their opponents but in the last 15 minutes conceded a brace of goals to Newton who completed his hat-trick.
Wolviston went out to an only goal against Windscale at Metcalfe Park. Darren Donald lobbed goalkeeper Nicky Farrell in the 31st minute.
Gateshead Low Fell clinched an 88th-minute winner when Ryhope CW visited the International Stadium. Chris Errington fired the Wearsiders ahead from 25 yards and on the stroke of half-time Daryl Martin levelled with an equally good finish.
Just as extra time appeared inevitable, Ian Glazinski won the tie with a super effort.
Boldon CA just edged Whitehaven in Cumbria. Ian Jackson gave them a tenth-minute lead before Jonathan Wright levelled on the hour. The visitors then looked to have the tie in the bag as Mark Williams struck twice within four minutes but with just three minutes remaining Wright threw the home side a lifeline.
Birtley Town extended their lead at the top of the table to five points when they went nap at Harton and Westoe.
The result was effectively settled in a four-minutes spell just before the interval when Tony Thirkell, Andrew Soulsby and Paul Bryson struck. Worse was to follow as Stephen Rochester made it four five minutes into the second half and he then added a second goal before the end.
In contrast, just one goal separated winners Willington from Cleator Moor Celtic. With four minutes left on the clock Paul Bailes completed a good move which involved three players by driving a left-foot shot into the net from 12 yards.
Teesside Athletic romped to a 7-0 victory at Dormans in the North Riding Senior Cup. James Kesterton rifled four goals with Ian Johnson, Stephen Hodgson and Andrew Mitchell also on target.
Stokesley SC also went through but there was only one goal in their tie with Fishburn Park. An own goal after 32 minutes was sufficient for the home team.
