HAIRDRESSING students at Darlington College have been busy cutting, colouring and coiffuring their avant-garde designs in preparation for an awards night.
Level 3 NVQ hairdressers have come up with hair designs for a fashion show, which will form part of a catwalk show at the annual college awards ceremony.
The event, at Darlington's Civic Theatre on Monday, November 7, to celebrate the achievements of staff and students.
Tutor Lynne Gallacher said: "It will be fantastic experience for the girls who will have to work under considerable pressure during the day for the big night."
Student Laura Hoggarth, of Middleton St George, said: "My design is based around plaits and curls, as I thought that would look really feminine."
The awards are being sponsored by Shepherd Construction, of York, which is building the £34.5m Darlington College on the Central Park site, off Haughton Road.
