CUSTOMERS at a Darlington pub went back in time at the weekend as a series of traditional games were staged.
The Brinkburn Pub hosted rounds of shove ha'penny, dominoes, great western skittles, pitch penny and indoor quoits.
The event was held as part of the Spirit Group's Great British Pub Festival, which started on October 3 and will run until Sunday.
The festival celebrates British food, drink and culture. The end of the festival will coincide with the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
Spirit Group pubs across the country are taking part in the festival and raising money for the Royal British Legion, which provides financial, social and emotional support to people who have served in the armed forces and their dependants.
Jan Davies, of The Brinkburn, said: "I don't think our customers were really looking forward to trying the traditional British pub games at first.
"But we were just trying to get an idea of what it might have been like to be in a pub in Nelson's time.
"The live musician got them into the spirit of things on the evening.
"We just hoped to raise money for a great British charity that helps the service men and their families."
