A NURSING home is inviting elderly people to a social evening.
Pentland Hill Nursing Home, in Middlesbrough, has organised a social evening with bingo and a pie and peas supper on October 28.
It is one of more than 120 Bupa care homes across the UK involved in running events for 2005 Community Spirit Week.
"All are welcome to our bingo evening which promises to be lots of fun for everyone attending," said spokeswoman Caroline Pocklington.
Community Spirit Week is designed to tackle the issue of isolation and loneliness in older people.
It came into being after a 2003 Mori poll commissioned by Help the Aged found that more than one million older people feel isolated and trapped in their own homes.
