VENUES across the region are celebrating the Big Draw initiative - a national scheme to get people of all ages actively involved in art.
Durham Cathedral has organised an event called Fantastic Faces.
Children, accompanied by an adult, will be set the task of following a face trail to find the many different faces from the serene to the grotesque around the cathedral.
Those taking part will then create their own fantastic face using clay.
There is a cost of 50p per person for the trail days, which will be held between 10am and noon and 1pm and 3pm tomorrow; Tuesday, October 25; Thursday, October 27 and Saturday, October 29. For more details call 0191-386 4266.
Meanwhile, visitors to the National Rail Museum, in York, are invited to create giant mobiles at workshops, from 10am to 4pm, tomorrow and Sunday. People will be able to create artwork inspired by railway engineering and their mobiles will be hung from the museum's hall.
Admission is free.
