A Postmistress who delivers a first-class service to her customers has been given the stamp of approval by bosses.
Jan Farnaby, 44, from Dormanstown, near Redcar, has been presented with a Best Post Office Awards regional runners-up customer service plaque.
Mrs Farnaby, who has been running the sub-post office for 11 years and was nominated by her customers, said: "I think you just have to listen to customers and to what they want.
"I know most of my customers and we get on really well. We have a good relationship."
Hundreds of post offices were entered for individual awards in sales, service and community, for a presentation of awards across the North.
Wendy Gess, of Post Office Ltd, said: "We know that Post Office branches are valued by their customers.
"With a very high standard of entries the choice wasn't easy.
"The judges were impressed by all the branches, which demonstrated their ability to offer a number of services especially in travel, banking and personal finance, helping them to be more competitive and still be an important part of the community."
