Clyde Wijnhard suffered his latest snub yesterday when Macclesfield Town dropped their interest in the sacked Darlington striker.
Wijnhard was expected to join the Silkmen on a three-month loan after his Quakers contract was terminated following a serious repeated breach of club rules.
Macclesfield boss Brian Horton has had second thoughts, saying: "I met him on Wednesday but I've decided to pull out of the deal."
Macclesfield are the third club to cool their interest in the Dutchman, who has also seen moves to Mansfield and Blackpool fall through. Bristol City are the latest to be linked with the 31-year-old.
Meanwhile Jonjo Dickman has added to Darlington's injury woes after the midfielder was ruled out of tomorrow's League Two trip to Bury.
Carlos Logan (Achilles) and Anthony Peacock (thigh) are both struggling to be fit and now Dickman faces at least a week on the sidelines after a scan on an abdominal injury.
Brian Close and Clark Keltie are both back in full training, although both are lacking match practice and will not be considered for another fortnight.
