THE Tourist Information Centre in Durham City has been shortlisted for a regional award.
The centre in Millennium Place has been named as one of four finalists in the Tourist Information Centre of the Region awards organised by regional development agency One NorthEast.
The centre was recognised after being tested by a secret shopper.
Tourism manager Martin Boulton said: "This is the first time that Durham has been selected and the only one from County Durham so we hope to do not only the city but the county proud."
