LIBRARY staff in Darlington are looking for arts and crafts materials to help make this Halloween as scary as possible for young readers.
Various Halloween events are planned at the Crown Street library for under 18s, but staff need help to create the right atmosphere.
Among the items that are needed are pumpkins for young visitors to make into lanterns. Staff are also looking for any leftover arts and crafts materials.
Councillor Lee Vasey, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for leisure services, said: "The library's Halloween day takes place on Saturday, October 29, and there will be lots of fun activities on offer.
"Any donations that, with a bit of imagination, could be turned into something spooky would be gratefully received.
"The council is keen to encourage more young people to use the library and the more exciting we can make events like this the more impact they will have on our younger visitors."
Anyone with a donation is asked to call James Hedge, the library's young people's officer, on (01325) 462034.
