STRICT restrictions were yesterday imposed on a nuisance drunk whose antics have already led to him being barred from many shops and licensed premises in a city.
Richard Shaun Laverick was given a three-year anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) by North Durham magistrates.
It followed complaints from traders, licensees, bookmakers and members of the public in Durham over his behaviour while under the influence of alcohol.
His conduct earlier this year included repeatedly being drunk in public, swearing and trying to incite youths to fight him, exposing himself, urinating in public, walking in front of traffic, being abusive to passers-by and police trying to deal with him.
He has also caused problems at several pubs and clubs, threatening staff when asked to leave.
The order prohibits Laverick, 35, of Fir Avenue, Sherburn Road Estate, Durham, from being drunk or consuming alcohol in a public street or in an open place, remaining on premises after being asked to leave and trying to enter premises from which he has been barred.
He is also prohibited from using words, behaviour or gestures that are offensive, indecent or obscene, in a street or open place, and assaulting, harassing, intimidating and abusing people.
