YOUNG artists are being invited to take a pictorial tour of a North-East city's heritage.
The Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology, in Durham, is inviting youngsters to take part in a drawing tour of the city centre today.
Museum education officer Jim McCaffery will lead the trek round some of Durham's most important archaeological and architectural sites, and people can sketch their impressions of the city's rich architectural heritage.
It is the museum's contribution to the national Big Draw initiative, which encourages people to take up their pencils and have a go at drawing.
Curator Craig Barclay said: "We are delighted to be part of the Big Draw programme.
"Durham is fortunate to possess one of the most fantastic collections of historic buildings and monuments in the country, and Saturday's tour offers a rare chance for young people to get a close look at some of the heritage that surrounds them."
The event, aimed at youngsters aged six to 14, will be from 1pm to 3pm.
To join the tour, meet at the museum, on the riverside footpath beneath the cathedral, shortly before 1pm. The charge is £2, which covers all materials. The museum can be contacted on 0191-334 5694.
