PARENTS are being reminded that a number of activities for young children are being held at a Darlington library today.
Crown Street Library is hosting four hours of fun to mark National Bookstart Day and to celebrate the extension of the Bookstart scheme.
Children up to the age of four are to be given free books.
Until now, Bookstart has only been open to babies aged seven to nine months but thanks to extra Government funding, free books will now be given to all children born after October 3, 2001.
To mark the occasion, there will be two baby rhyme-time sessions, family learning activities and story sessions.
The Bookstart Day celebrations will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
