PLANS for a regeneration strategy for the Chester-le-Street district have been backed by councillors.
The blueprint is aimed at ensuring an effective collaboration between different agencies
District council regeneration portfolio holder, Councillor Chris Jukes, said: "Developing a regeneration strategy is an essential part of the council's priorities as highlighted in our corporate plan."
"It is important that residents and representatives of the various sectors have their say in ensuring that the Chester-le-Street district is regenerated in such a way that there is genuine opportunity for all in a district with tremendous potential."
A draft regeneration strategy is expected be put out for extensive consultation before the end of this year.
