HOSPITAL patients too ill to be moved can now be x-rayed in their beds by a new mobile machine.
Radiographers at the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, can take the £30,000 x-ray machine to patients wherever they are, including accident and emergency, coronary care, intensive care and wards around the hospital.
The machine was bought following fundraising by the Friends of the Friarage organisation.
Chairman Brian Thompson said: "We wanted to provide something that would really benefit the local community, be an asset to the hospital and an advantage for patients and staff.
"The x-ray machine and equipment really fitted the bill and we are delighted to be able to help our local hospital once again."
Deputy x-ray department manager Katy Birch said: "We are really grateful to the Friends for this extremely generous donation and would like to thank them for the hard work and commitment they put in to helping patients at the hospital year after year."
