HUNDREDS of free tickets are available for a night of music to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Chilton Town Council will host a Night of the Proms Victory in Europe concert at Chilton and Windlestone Workingmen's Club, on Friday, November 11, at 7pm.
The proms event is an annual council function, but this year it has been expanded to celebrate the end of the conflict with a grant from the Lottery's Home Front recall scheme, which has enabled the council to offer free admission.
Music will be provided by Hurworth Big Brass Band and singer Shaun Connelly.
The council is also using its £2,500 grant to host a wartime exhibition.
Concert tickets are available from the council offices, Durham Road, Chilton.
