A DURHAM nightclub is on the lookout for student talent to take part in an X-Factor-style competition.
DH1, in North Road, plans to hold a competition for students at the city's university during each of the three academic terms. It is based on the popular ITV series and will offer competitors the chance to win £250 and make their own CD in a recording studio.
"We are letting the crowd be the judges," said Paul Potts, operations manager for club owner Vimac Leisure. "With the help of our DJ, Michael Lane, they will replace Simon Cowell, Sharon Osborne and Louis Walsh, but I don't think they'll be any less vociferous in their comments."
Students can get applications from the club or call 0191-384 3900 for more information.
