BUILDERS' merchant Jewson has invested £600,000 in a site in the North-East.
The branch opening at the Salters Lane Industrial Estate, in Sedgefield, County Durham, on Monday, has created 15 jobs, which could rise to more than 20 in the future.
Branch manager Phil Elliman said: "Sedgefield is an affluent town and its housing market is growing all the time. This has brought with it an increase in housebuilding and property development in the area and a growing need for building materials.
"The new Jewson branch will be the only builders' merchant in Sedgefield to offer a complete building materials and timber range, combined with the high levels of service our customers nationwide have come to expect."
