A CHILDREN'S nursery in Spennymoor has won a prize for its lively and informative website.
The Rainbow Nursery, in Middlestone Moor, was runner-up in a national competition organised by Nursery World magazine to find the best websites.
The 72-place nursery, which opened 18 months ago in a purpose-built centre, created the website mainly to help parents keep in touch with activities at the nursery.
Director Sheila Gardiner said: "To get second place in a national competition was wonderful recognition for those people who have worked on it.
"Thanks mainly go to Karen Crawford, Newton Aycliffe company Wizzegroup, who built it, and Julie Whitaker, who entered the awards.
"The website has been good for business, but also to keep parents informed and lots of people use it to contact us."
