A GALA concert is being held to launch a Brass Band Aid charity CD.
The Witham Hall, in Barnard Castle, is to hold the concert on Saturday, October 15, at which Barnard Castle Town Band will join forces with Stanhope Silver Band.
The concert will launch the bands' CD, Brass Band Aid, which also features neighbouring Ferryhill and Broughtons bands.
The CD also features a celebrity band, formed for the project, which is conducted by Richard Evans of the Grimethorpe UK Band.
The project was started by 15-year-old Briony Thompson, a trombone player with Stanhope Silver Band, and 13-year-old flugel-horn player Sophie Robson, the daughter of Steve Robson, the conductor of Stanhope band, to raise money for World Vision, which helps people in developing countries.
The concert begins at 7.30pm and proceeds will be split between World Vision and Witham Hall.
The CD will also be on sale at £10 a copy. Tickets cost £4 and can be booked by calling (01833) 631107.
