A PUB landlady has thanked regulars who helped raise £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Helen Cousins, who runs the Haynes Arms, at Kirby Sigston, near Northallerton, said the support from the community had been "huge".
She has been running a fundraising campaign in memory of her husband Tom, who died two years ago from cancer.
Mrs Cousins, along with pub manager Emma Scaife, organised a hog roast, quiz and raffles. The events raised £1,266 in total.
Yesterday Mrs Cousins and Miss Scaife presented a cheque for £1,000 to Pam Granger, treasurer of the Northallerton branch of Macmillan Cancer Relief. The remaining amount has been donated to the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Mrs Cousins said: "All the locals have helped out and the community has really supported all the events.
"I would also like to thank Prestons of Potto, who provided the lorry for the band at the hog roast."
