PLANS to introduce disc parking in Easingwold town centre have been unveiled.
Hambleton District Council has put forward the plans for a two-hour parking limit in Market Place and parts of Long Street.
The scheme is connected to a £160,000 package of measures to improve traffic flow proposed by North Yorkshire County Council, which would see 26 car parking spaces lost in the Market Place.
Steve Quartermain, director of planning and environmental services at Hambleton, said: "The aim of our scheme is to control inconsiderate car parking and displace long-term car parking from an area where short-stay capacity is needed to the Galtres Centre car park, which does have some spare capacity."
The council's cabinet will discuss the plans on Tuesday.
