MORE than 50 members of North Yorkshire social services staff are celebrating after gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
Many of the workers help people in their homes, day centres or residential establishments.
They have received awards to improve their skills, such as NVQs in care.
Councillor John Fort, the county council's executive member for lifelong learning, said: "I would like to congratulate this group of staff on their achievement.
"Their hard work has obviously paid off for them personally, but the real winners are the people of North Yorkshire for whom services will continue to improve because of the skills they have acquired.
"It is always a great pleasure to see the commitment of staff rewarded by their qualification achievements."
The awards were presented by the county council's assistant director of care, Tony Campbell.
