HUNDREDS of people are lending their voices to support a hospice.
More than 500 young singers and musicians from across Hartlepool and the surrounding area are taking part in a ten-hour music marathon this weekend to raise funds for the Hartlepool and District Hospice.
And the singers will not be on their own, as their performance is being repeated across the UK and around the world.
About 400 concerts are taking place in 52 countries, as part of the world's largest simultaneous singing event.
Alyson Robinson, from the Northern School of Music, is performance director for Voices for Hospices at the Billingham Forum.
She said: "This is a chance for children and young people in the North-East to showcase their amazing talents as part of a very important global event, while also helping local people with terminal illnesses."
The Teesside music marathon is on Sunday.
It will include three concerts featuring choirs, dance schools, classical performers and groups and will be compered by Roy Leonard, of BBC Radio Cleveland.
Tickets cost £5, or £4 for concessions, and can be ordered from the hospice on (01429) 855555.
